What to Expect
Welcome to Cedarbaum Orthodontics! Upon your arrival, please let our receptionist know you’re here. We’re excited to greet you and your family at our practice.
Your Initial Examination
During your visit, Dr. Andrew Cedarbaum will conduct a comprehensive orthodontic examination, personally explaining every aspect of your potential treatment.
The Purpose of the Initial Examination Includes:
- Identifying any issues: What kind of orthodontic problem is present, if any?
- Timing for treatment: When is the best time to begin treatment?
- Recommended treatment: What type of treatment is best suited for you?
- Treatment duration: How long will the treatment take?
- Cost overview: What is the estimated cost of treatment?
Next Steps
If orthodontic treatment is recommended, we’ll schedule an appointment for Diagnostic Records. If time permits, we can often complete these records during your initial visit.
What Are Diagnostic Records?
Diagnostic records help us understand your unique dental needs and may include:
- Study models of your teeth
- Panoramic and cephalometric X-rays and tracings
- Facial and intraoral photographs
- A thorough analysis by the doctor to determine the best course of treatment, which will be discussed during a separate consultation visit
Regular Appointments
Following the records appointment, we’ll schedule your next visit to place your orthodontic appliances (braces, expanders, etc.). This process typically takes one to two hours. Afterward, you’ll return for adjustments every four to eight weeks, with each appointment lasting about 30 minutes or less.
Treatment Costs
The overall cost of treatment varies based on the severity of your condition. We offer various payment plans tailored to your budget and accept most insurance assignments to make orthodontics accessible for everyone.
What Your Investment Includes:
Your treatment investment covers:
- Orthodontic records, including X-rays, study models, and a personalized growth study to establish treatment goals
- Active treatment fees for both early interventions and comprehensive care with braces or Invisalign, covering all appliances, office visits, and procedures. Our durable appliances are designed to last throughout treatment, provided instructions are followed. If appliances need replacing due to loss, damage, or misuse, an additional fee may apply.
- Final retainers: For our comprehensive (Phase II) patients, one set of retainers is included upon treatment completion. Replacement fees apply for lost or broken retainers.
What’s Not Included:
- Work performed at other dental offices outside our orthodontic practice.
- Additional treatments required due to accidents or injuries during treatment that may lead to TMJ (Temporo-Mandibular-Joint) complications or necessitate orthognathic surgery may incur extra fees.
Assignment of Benefits
We accept assignment of benefits from most insurance plans, significantly reducing your out-of-pocket expenses. If your plan does not allow assignment, we are happy to file claims so you can receive reimbursement directly. Please contact us of any changes to your insurance policy before full payment to adjust your contract as needed.
Office Hours
Appointments are required for all patient visits. We strive to stay on schedule and kindly ask for your cooperation in this. If you cannot attend a scheduled appointment, please notify us as soon as possible.
